EXPRESSING AND UNDERSTANDING

And I’ll be over here growing my garden

            You can join if you like

I’ll reap the seeds I sow

            Just like my mother; just like her’s

But there will be new rules

            Women can enter even if they’re menstruating

            Pots can be broken even if they’re precious

            And everything will be done in love

                                    Growing here in my garden

This piece was created during my residency at The Hillstreet Country Club and shown in my solo show in the same space. It was one of two installation works I created as part of the exhibit.
