EXPRESSING AND UNDERSTANDING

In desperate need of silence and idle time, I headed off to Idyllwild, CA in East riverside county outside of LA. The mountains in around Idyllwild provide the perfect retreat from the everyday humdrum of southern California city life. Walking around I began noticing the micro-textures that are found throughout the forest. The flora, minerals, and sun created a peculiar set of textures that when curated together immerse you in a world like no other. I observed these with a clear mind and an open heart -- reiterating that my art requires me to be present and grateful.
